The transformation of suburbia is well underway.  Zoning restrictions that prevented mixed-use development have been removed enabling businesses to locate closer to where people live.  A network of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) is linking formerly disconnected neighbourhoods, reducing the need for car ownership.   A variety of housing options are becoming available that more accurately reflect changing demographics.  Integrated into neighbourhoods, small urban farms provide employment and access to locally grown food.
